History of our Lodge
The Ridgewood Moose Lodge is a longstanding organization focused on fostering brotherhood and community service. Established on June 30, 1916, it has a rich history of providing social support and charitable activities. In 1954, it relocated to Maspeth, New York, near St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Then, in 1999, it moved once more to its current location. Throughout its journey, the Fraternal Order of Moose Lodge has been a cornerstone of the community since its inception, offering a space for camaraderie, support, and service.
In addition to providing a venue for members to connect and socialize, Moose Lodges often engage in various charitable endeavors. This might include fundraising events for local causes, supporting youth programs, assisting veterans, or contributing to community development initiatives. The organization’s commitment to service underscores its dedication to making a positive impact beyond its membership.
Moose Lodges typically host a range of activities and events, such as dinners, dances, sports leagues, and community outreach programs. These gatherings not only strengthen bonds among members but also serve to enrich the broader community by providing opportunities for involvement and collaboration.
The Moose is a fraternal and service organization founded in 1888 with nearly 650,000 men & women in roughly 1,600 Lodges in 49 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain. Along with other units of Moose International, the Loyal Order of Moose supports the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School, a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago; and Moosehaven, a 70-acre retirement community for its members near Jacksonville, FL.
